The Sir Collins Legacy Honours

Event: Saturday 13th September 2025, 1-7pm, Dalston Square, off Dalston Lane, E8 3BQ

Celebrating the contributions of pioneering entrepreneurs and entertainers through clubs like Cubies and the legendary Four Aces, a free day launching the new heritage elements installed in Dalston Square in collaboration with the Older Generation, Younger Generation (OGYG) organisation. Join us and enjoy an unveiling ceremony, live acoustic music from Reggae band Black Slate,  a museum display and delicious Caribbean food.

Since 2020, OGYG has worked with community partners and Hackney Council to bring the late Sir Collins’ vision to life: a heritage space honouring Dalston Square’s rich cultural history.

Together, we have:

  • Installed a new history panel telling the story of the site

  • Created dedicated space in the square honouring cultural trailblazers

  • Established a memory garden for the victims and survivors of the New Cross Fire

  • Processed Sir Collins’ archive, preserving vital local and national history

Join us as we unveil and launch these fantastic new elements so we can enjoy, learn and remember together.
