Homerton Library x Buzzline Project

Homerton Library is working with ecoACTIVE to create a pollinator-friendly garden in front of the Library as part of the Hackney Buzzline project.

The shrubs will be removed to make room for a wild flower meadow, log seating and a new tree to benefit bees and people alike.

Homerton Library is working with ecoACTIVE to create a pollinator-friendly garden in front of the Library, as part of the Hackney Buzzline project, created in response to Hackney’s Nature Recovery Plan. The Hackney Buzzline is a brilliant initiative to link five Hackney parks with a flower corridor for pollinators. The first section stretches from Hackney Downs to Mabley Green. Now, thanks to funding from the Hackney Council Community Fund, the corridor is extending to Homerton Grove park. We are proud to be turning our patch of grass into a pollinator’s paradise with a wildflower meadow, shrubs, and two new trees from the Tree Musketeers Nursery - to benefit these helpful insects and people alike!

The project kicks off on 3 July with a corporate volunteering session to remove the existing shrubs and fence.

Come along to Homerton Library on Monday 13 July 12-2pm to find out more about our plans to transform the space into a nature-friendly meadow.
Have your say, learn about the Buzzline, input your ideas and sign up to get involved in the project, which starts proper in the autumn.
