Young LIT Stars are taking over Hackney Central Library for their second annual Children's Black Book Fair! Join us for a fun filled afternoon amplifying the voices of writers of Black children's books.
Meet 20 young Black published authors under 18 and experience: interactive reading zones, the boys book cave, Windrush corner, arts and crafts, face painting, reading and writing seminars, the audiobook chill out zone, black book stalls and video 360.
The Book Fair will be opened by publishing legend and pioneer, 94 year old Eric Huntley and Dr Ronx will host the London Spelling Bee Championship finals 2025. Ramzee, author and illustrator of The Cheat Book will host an interactive workshop and Michael DeSouza, creator of the iconic Rastamouse, will be reading extracts from his latest book 'Lil' Bruv.'

The first 100 children will receive a marvellous goodie bag and every child attending will be part of a free draw and could take home a collection of books worth £100.
We will also be raffling a £1,000 Book Mountain with proceeds going to our 2025 adopted charity the MAA MAAT Cultural Centre
