 Why Hackney Matters

As a Homerton native, the borough remains central to his identity as an artist, with his music drawing on its experiences, sounds and perspectives while remaining connected to the wider creative networks of East London’s underground scene. Through his independent creative work, Razor continues a tradition of using grassroots platforms to amplify local voices and experiences.

This connection remains evident in his 2025 album, In My Own Time, which reflects on the realities of life in East London, exploring themes of hardship, hostility and hope while bringing together collaborators from across his musical network.

Razor is also a radio presenter and has hosted his own shows on Reprezent Radio, alongside his work as an MC. He has also used radio as a space to champion emerging artists, reflecting the important role underground broadcasting has played throughout his career.
