Hackney Libraries Go All In for the National Year of Reading

Poet Raymond Antrobus reads from Gboyega Odubanjo's collection Adam.

Hackney is officially joining the national Year of Reading, kicking things off in January with a new Hackney Libraries Reading Charter! This declaration spotlights all the fantastic, year-round work we do across the borough to champion reading for pleasure and to provide crucial learning support for everyone. All year we will showcase our different programmes designed to get all ages reading – from little ones right up to adults needing literacy help – plus the books in different languages we provide in our libraries, celebrating the wonderful diversity of Hackney’s community.
