Black History Season at Peer: Sahra Hesi X Peer Ambassadors

  • Peer Gallery 97-99 Hoxton Street London N1 6QLUK N1 6QL (map)

Peer will work with an artist/Sahra Hersi and the Peer Ambassadors on new work in response to ‘Khadija's Garden’, Peer’s community garden and memorial to Khadija Saye.

For Black History Season 2025 Peer will work with an artist/artist and spatial designer Sahra Hersi and the current cohort of Peer Ambassadors, a group of local young people aged 17-25, to create a series of new work in response to Khadija's Garden, Peer’s community garden and memorial to artist and previous Peer employee, Khadija Mohammadou Saye (30 July 1992 – 14 June 2017). The project will culminate in a free public sharing on Saturday 29 November from 2pm, which will be open to all.

The Peer Ambassadors is an evolving creative youth programme that works with and supports young people aged 17-25 from underrepresented and lower socio-economic backgrounds from Hackney and Tower Hamlets to gain paid work experience, learn, collaborate, and build community.
