Hackney Carnival Is back for 2024

After a five year absence Hackney Carnival goes back to its roots on Sunday 22 September 2024 with a family-focused parade celebrating the borough’s diverse communities and creative talents.

Returning artistic director Pax Nindi will lead the famous street parade featuring Hackney's loyal legacy carnival groups that residents know and love. The daytime event will showcase eye-catching floats and vibrant colourful costumes that celebrate the diversity of carnival culture. Work is now underway to create a thrilling line-up for the day as well as creating opportunities for young people and their families to get involved in the summer workshops across the borough.

There are many ways for local residents to take part, including performing on stage, making costumes, occupying a stall, attending a summer workshop, or volunteering on the day.

Stay tuned for more updates and follow the Hackney Carnival Instagram and Facebook account for news as it happens!
